The main aim of this extra class or supplementary class is to teach our children Nepali language, about Nepal as well as to give them extra tuition on other subjects i.e. English, Math, science and computer. The first hour will be spent solely on teaching Nepali Language and the next hour will be a flexible hour, it can be utilised to teach Nepali or as a mixture of extra tuition on subjects like English, Math, Science and computer or the totur may utilise it as per the requests of the children ie helping the children in doing their homework. Mr. Narayan Timilsina (the tutor) is working hard to prepare this class for the sole benefit of our children and more importantly he is running this 5 weeks trial class for free of charge. We know our children have plenty of free times and they are wasting their valuable times in playing either at home or in the grounds therefore lets encourage our children to take advantage of this golden opportunity. Even it is only two hours per week they can learn a lot of things.

May I therefore please ask you all to let either me or Harkaram Rai know as soon as possible whether your son or daughter can attend this class or not.

Remember even two hours a week CAN MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE in our childrens' lives.

Kind regards,

Lachhya Gurung
General Secretary

Brief Reporting of 5 trail Session Nepali Language Classes

To
The Chairman
Burnt Oak Nepalese Community
Burnt Oak, London

Ref: Reporting of 5 days trail Nepali Language Classes!

I have considered the 5 days trail Nepali Language Classes went satisfactorily. It would have been more efficient if we could have been more consistence and ample participation of children. Having different levels of students it went well.

The following students were present for the trial lesson carried on at the Orange Hill Hall.
Among them Rupash Gurung , Geeta Gurung and Ashish Gurung are regular students through out the sessions:

1. Ashish Gurung - 4days
2. Rupash Gurung -5 days
3. Geeta Gurung -5 days
4. Binaya Gurung -3 days
5. Ashik Gurung 3 days
6. Ubi Gurung 2 days
7. Mohan Gurung 2 days
8. Sabina Gurung 2 days
9 Jaya 1 day
10.Pratima Gurung 1 day

Most of the children seemed reluctant to learn Nepali Language comparing to sports or watching TV. It is possible that they lack its importance and usefulness in future. It likely seemed that they are not convinced how important to learn Nepali Language for their own identity in Future. It's rewarding all the children took active participation in class activities.

Most of the students would show more interest to learn Nepali Language if we are able to provide more materials, attractive classroom, and new methods and techniques of teaching. I have tried my best to provide basic to difficult levels of Nepali Language courses for different levels of students in this short period of time. I am positive that eventually students will show more interest when they are taken certain levels of achievement that is reading and writing in Nepal.

Ashish Gurung, one of the language student shows his interest that he wants to be able to read Nepali Books and Magazines so that he will gain more knowledge ans skills in Nepali. Some children like Sabina need to learn from the basics where as other children can start from upper level .

Geeta and Rupash were emphasised more in Learning English and other subjects rather than Nepali Language as they are new in this country . They have actively participated all the lessons activities.

Furthermore, I am looking forward to continue teaching Nepali Language and other subjects assistance per children Needs.

I have attended the CILTA training for 2 days and I find it worth taking as a language teacher. Though I have gained my TESOL from Trinity College, Cambridge , It's always important to up-to-date skills and knowledge and new methods.

I am looking forward to hear feedback and suggestions from Burnt Oak Community Members as well as from the parents so that we can continue working .

I am very grateful for the co-operations and welcoming of Burnt Oak Community for the opportunity for working with you . I will be more than happy to continue working in future as well.

I am looking forward to her from you regarding the continuity of further classes in future.
I would like to offer special thanks to Lachhya ji, Prem ji and all the parents for all their supports and hard working to make these 5 days class successful.

I will be available in any time next weekend or so to discuss more about the issues regarding to run supplementary classes more professionally. Without Community's Interest , it won't possible, I am sure that our community members are enthusiastic to make it successful as a first established Nepali Supplementary school in England. I will be always working hard for the benefit of our community.

Thanking you

Sincerely Yours

2 x Names addition in the Student List

Dear General Secretary and Nepali Language Tutor,

I would like to request to add 2 x names in the student list. These are the children of my relative who has moved to Burnt Oak recently and wishes to to become a member of the Burnt Oak Nepalese Community. The parent of these children is much inspired by the Sumplimentary package. I take the full responsibility of these children over the period of the classes.

In addition, all members of the community should be encouraged to present at the classes and interact with the tutor and the children as I assume that it is equally beneficial for the parents as much as the children.

I look forward to seeing you on the day.

Thanks in advance.
